Rev. Dr. Carol Reed has served at Calvin Presbyterian Church since June 2007. She previously served interim pastorates and associate pastorates in upstate New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and with an agency related to the Presbyterian Church (USA) serving international health ministries. She has also taught in church related schools in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Taegu, South Korea, and served as stated supply pastor at a church in Melbourne, Australia.
Carol earned a Bachelor’s of Science from University of Wisconsin-Stout, a Master’s of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, and in May 2013 completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Her thesis was on spiritual practices and transformation in the church.
Music Director - Sam Grace
Samuel Grace is a master of music candidate in choral conducting at the University of Minnesota and the assistant conductor of the Minnesota Oratorio Society. At Calvin, Samuel directs the chancel choir and oversees the music program. He resides in Minneapolis and spends his free time riding his bike, visiting friends, and playing trivia games. Samuel received his B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College.
Organist - Mark Bilyeu
Mark grew up in Chicago, graduated from the Chicago College of Performing Arts in 2008, and recently completed a masters degree in Collaborative Piano & Vocal Coaching from the University of Minnesota. He has served as music director with various groups in Chicago and has participated in music festivals around the world. Mark can be seen across the midwest with his piano-horn-voice ensemble, Trio Pastiche. He has also held several positions as a church musician including Head Organist/Accompanist at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Highland Park, IL, as Senior Choral Scholar at Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, and is thrilled to continue his music ministry at Calvin Presbyterian.
